많은 영국인들의 노래를 들으면 뭔가 심오한 것 같습니다.=

 

Pink Floyd가 그랬고... Alan Parsons Project, Beatles도 그러하고... 요즘 인기있는 Coldpaly도...

 

날씨가 그러해서 그런지...

 

제 정서와도 좀 맞고...

 

뭐 그렇습니다.

 

지난 밤에 예전부터 좋아했었는데... 그냥 대충 알고 있던 Alan Parsons Project에 대하여 알아보았습니다.

 

특히 제가 좋아하는 Ammonia Avenue를 중심으로...

 

뭐 많은 이야기들이 나오던데요... 짧은 영어로 다 알기에는 힘들고요... ㅜㅜ

 

프로듀서인 Alan Parsons와 Eric Woolfson 위주로 앨범이 발표되었더군요...

 

Alan Parsons은 Pink Floyd 앨범의 프로듀서로 알려져 있다고 합니다.

 

그리고 Ammonia Avenue에 대한 창의적인 해석이 있는데...

 

암모니아의 화학 기호인 NH3와 Avenue의 AVE를 합치고 N을 맨뒤로 돌리면 Heaven이 된다는 글이 있더군요. 정말 대단하지 않나요... 예전에 공일오비와 무한궤도를 짜 맞추던 기억이... ^^

 

한분은 그냥 냄새나는 거리로 해석하신 분도 계시고, 일본의 한 웹에서는 오줌거리라는 분도 계시고 ㅋㅋㅋ

 

관사가 없으니 그냥 추상적인 단어다라고 말씀하시는 분들도 계시네요...

 

위키디피아에서는 어떤 화학회사 공장을 갔었는데 사람도 없고 나무도 없는 파이프로 가득채워진 Ammonia Avenue로 불리는 거리에서 영감을 얻었다고 합니다. 짧은 영어라 맞는지 모르겠네요... ㅜㅜ

 

뭐 과학과 기술의 진보에 대한 대중의 무지 가능성에 대한 초점이 있다고 하는데... 좀 잘못된 듯한 느낌도 듭니다. 하하하...

 

하여튼 노래가 참 사람 미치게 만들죠...

 

가사를 해석해볼까 했는데... 참 어렵네요...
